Snorkeling in Costa Rica

The best snorkeling locations in Costa Rica are found at Las Catalinas Islands off the shore of the Pacific Coast and are accessed by boat. For mixed group of divers and snorkelers, your options are to join the public dive boat or privately charter the dive boat. Snorkeling equipment and light refreshments are provided on all snorkeling tours.

We also offer snorkel, Paddle-Board  and Kayaking tours on Luxury Catamarans with open bars and buffet meals. These tours visit secluded beach areas near Las Catalinas and feature one activity stop. See below.

Best Time to Visit Costa Rica for Snorkeling

You can enjoy snorkeling in Costa Rica any time of the year, but to get the best snorkeling conditions, when the seas are calm, clear, warm, and lively, plan your holidays between June and September. Throughout the year water temperatures range from 21C/70F in Winter, to 28C/83F in Spring to Fall.

LUXURY CATAMARANS

The most popular tours for snorkelers and passengers, which are suitable for all ages, are the spectacular catamaran tours. These are categorized as half or full day, public or private charters. They all feature an open bar, gourmet snacks & meals. You can also Paddle Board and Kayak from most of them. These Catamarans are suitable for group sizes of 10 to 40 persons.

The most popular tour is the Sunset Tour, where you get to see the majestic Las Catalinas Islands set against the most beautiful Costa Rica sunsets.

Catamaran Tours are one of the most popular activities in Costa Rica and sell out very quickly. We encourage you to make your reservation early in your vacation.
