Bat Islands

If you are serious divers looking for a more adventurous diving trip, then you must try the Bull Shark dive Bat Islands or as they are locally known, Islas Murcialego. The site is called The Big Scare and home to Bull Sharks and giant Pacific Manta Rays.
This site is also home to many species that are found all over Costa Rica but the reason divers are heading to The Bats is to see the Bull Sharks. During the summer months the water at the islands can be blue, clean and warm. The site is 30m/90ft deep and the conditions call for moderately experienced divers. For this reason we require our divers to be minimum of PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent with recent diving experience and close to 30 logged dives.
Bat Island charters typically run from May to September during the fair weather season. This is a natural shark dive and there is no feeding involved.
